Post The Walking Dead
Some parts of it are sub par, but I thoroughly enjoy the show. The first half of the second season is boring as fuck, everyone sits around and talks about their feelings, but it is worth it for the second half. First season was bad ass. I'm excited for the third.

I can't wait for the third, I hear they are bringing in some pretty awesome characters from the graphic novels that should have been there earlier.

Watched first season, and it was good, but I didn't really get that excited for the second one

I read the first comic, and thought it sucked ass. I just can't envision the TV show being any more exciting, though I could be wrong. Anyone care to tell me it's finer points?

It depends on your preferences, when it comes to zombie apocalypse i think The Walking Dead is old school at it's best, it's very realistic (if we can talk about realism in move with zombies), quite opposite to what was done to Resident Evil movies. All about survive, thrive and behavior.
I think that the biggest strenght of this series is climate. Stan Winston (and his school of character arts) made zombies a real piece of art. Also shadowing and colors give big impression of keeping it realistic.

Biggest flaw is that it's hard to find balance in time between fighting and dialogues, because of audience expectations - some want more action and some wish for showing behaviors and feelings of many different characters put in such dangerous enviorment (for example "will they climb to their morality/ humanity or get more primitive, do anything to survive or get what they want since there are no more laws").

In my opinion, The Walking Dead is kind of jack of all trades when it comes to zombie apocalypse movies - any fan will find something that attracts his attention but as whole it probably won't be his favorite in this movie genre.
It's fexiblity is big strenght but also a flaw of this series.

Why do you think Resident Evil is subpar? I kinda liked the earlier movies.
