However I'd disagree at emotionally driven. My logic is no more emotionally driven than that of any other logical person, and in this I'm disincluding the general population: Their logic is eons more emotionally driven than mine. I simply know when to stop with looking at cold, hard fact and assert my own common sense. Sometimes intelligence requires a bit of emotional investment. You need that spark of excitement, longing, care, or -insert motivating emotion here-.

No no you're misunderstanding. When I say emotionally driven I think you explore things for emotional reasons.

I don't think you use it in a bad way, although it can be bad.

For a good reason, you have no logical reason to understand programming. But you want to and that's emotional.

Most people are emotionally driven, but they're emotionally logical on top of that which you are not.

To be fair, you have an incredibly roundabout way of writing. It was difficult for me to comprehend. Usually when I debate people, they type in a very clear and precise manner. I don't mean it at all as an insult, but if you had a different style of expressing your thoughts, none of that would have happened in the first place. This was the first time I've ever remotely misunderstood someone and most of my misunderstanding came from your comment on evolution. And even you have to admit the way you phrased it implied you were somehow equating it to creationism even if you weren't.

And yes, I explore things for emotional reasons. And I feel deeply about the world around us as well. I am not ashamed to admit so, nor am I ashamed to hold on to certain attachment. It's silly to try to suppress emotion. While I'm not against desensitization, I dislike people who claim they feel no emotion or people who simply try to suppress emotion from their perspective. Fact is, too much emotion will cloud your view on things. But utter lack of emotion will only be counterproductive to any gained knowledge. You'd have no use, no application. It is inhuman and illogical. The main reason humans have come so far today is because they have motivation to keep improving. If that was taken away, we would be nowhere.

As I said, not a bad thing at all. If you weren't emotionally driven you'd be boring.

On misreading me, I tend to simplify my thoughts to make them easier to read.

My comment was that if I were given the argument I would pick the side of science.

I try not to put in too much detail so that people don't become bored or confused. This tends to drive away people that do like clarification though, but it's a style that gets to my intended audience.

Alright, that makes a bit more sense. I tend to not do too well with things that are oversimplified or dumbed down. I haven't been talked to in that manner since I was very young. I've been among intelligent and politically aware company since the age of 12. Regardless, I'll try to spend a bit of extra time in attempt to properly analyze your posts.

I've been around the opposite. people that are intelligent but not at my level. Well that I can tell. They don't seem to be. But until recently more social at least. Relationships are still hard.

Ah well see, I live in a social bubble. The only people I have any significant interaction with in real life are the four other kids in my district Gifted program. I had a girlfriend for a while. She was a converting Mormon. In all honesty though, I felt like she was a child when I tried to explain things to her. That's not to say it made her unlikable, she was clever and all, just not intellectual, and that's not what matters. Either way, I got dumped recently and that's over with. I'm back in my bubble.
