Because dating is considered an extra something unnecessary

Funny how they don't like 'dating' - that coming from a people who have no qualms about paying dirt-cheap for a marriage, fuck'em and dump 'em is... well... its hypocritical of 'em, don'tcha think?

Well I don't think that in my country there is any rule book on how to properly date with someone, everything depends on people, their preferences and social life in whih they grown-up.
If you ask about personal rules like "no sex on a first date" or "man must pay for the women" then well, I know people like that but i suppose such behaviors are to be seen in most of countries and most of the time are all the same.
I haven't dated many people of other nationality than mine so I'm not sure if there are even any significant differences.
When it comes to customs then the only one in my country I can point at the moment is kissing women in the hand as you introduce yourself. It's a sign of good manners and respect for the lady. Personally I really like it as I am a man of savoir-vivre but it's slowly getting forgotten as it becomes a thing of the past. These days respect is more likely to be associated with words like "fear" or "dominance" than a good manners.

I can only point you some in my opinion universal rules and things from my experience that might be helpfull.
[spoiler]Appreciation and respect is a must but don't compliment your partners attractivess - complient work and personality. Physical apperance is what people get from their parents DNA. They were born that way and that's all there is to it. But the case is very different when somene tries to work on part of his/her personality or wants to be an expert in someting (not especially job but also some hobby or social skills that help the person be in good relations with everyone). Remember how you've felt when someone complimented you on your work.
