The 2011 release caused me to go back and watch the original, then read it from where I left off. From what I've seen the anime runs very, very close to the manga. Anyway, I haven't been watching the 2011 one since episode 40 or something. The general feel of it is kind of inconsistent in certain arcs, and it's a little ridiculous, but it's still pretty good.
