The biggest threat at the moment is Internet Throttling (like they do in Australia, or AT&T does to smart phones), and even then the FCC is stepping in to say no.

I agree. And I think that's whats happening right now. Srsly, we're using less than 2% of the bandwidth allocated, and around 5~10% of CPU usage allocated; there's no other explanation to this.

Re: YOUR SERVERS SUCK I have seen this problem before too, sometimes it's not throttling. last time I encountered it it was the ISp that hosted a relative's website, turned out the ISP was a family run thing and their kid was hogging the whole T1 line playing call of duty and downloading porn hence why connections were so slow/not possible at odd times.

The biggest threat at the moment is Internet Throttling (like they do in Australia, or AT&T does to smart phones), and even then the FCC is stepping in to say no. I know. They even recently decided that they're reclassifying the internet-access service in the Communications Act. My point is that internet in mmurrica is shitty as fuck, and overpriced as fuck. With or without net neutrality, I've looked at the prices, I've heard about your stupid warnings you receive for torrenting, and I've heard about the bullshit monopoly a few major ISPs have over certain regions. America: comcast 50mbit/s - $ 114.95 / month CenturyLink 40mbit/s - $ 70 / month etc etc... How the fuck can anyone pay so much for that shitty speed? In sweden you can get 1000mbit/s down 1000mbit/s up for 114.95 / month. That's 20 fucking times the speed shitty comcast offers.
