Someone find or make a simple program that flashes a message on my screen every once in a while asking me if what I'm doing is benifitting me.

I swear its like a fucking disorder I just spend an hour reading people debate about common fucking core standards for probably the 10th time in my life.
Can't possibly tell you how much time I've lost doing stuff that has no benifit to me at all and no matter how much I know that whenever I find something fucking useless I just get lost in it for hours

yep, I'm there too. news knows how to piss me off 10 times a day or rather the US gov knows how to piss lots of people off by pushing their opinions as law and modifying evidence in their own trials etc etc.

no timer is going to work.

the only way I get to doing anything productive is to sit down and say "those damned fuckers are going to lose their jobs when someone from the inside finds their conscience or gets pissed off by their fellows over money or women. then all that shit is going to come out and the bastards will lose their jobs, and all the money they had to use to bribe and mess-up the world with will dry up after a series of arrests for aiding in a plot of high treason against the nation, it's constitution and because of their support of terrorism."

puts enough peace in mah mind to get working.

No it's compulsive. I need something to pull me out of the abyss, I understand my brain and the exact thing I need is a timer reminding me of my priorities. My brain wont even have the thought of stopping for hours and thats the problem.. I need the thought

You sir, are being fooled by a lot of browbeaten thieves, trapped in real life - a social construct of a system unto which people's attentions are monopolized into a slurry of laziness, an uncreative miasma of despair made of repetition and sloth. Please do disregard the content contained therein their platitudinous, boring and otherwise repetitive garbage which passes off as debate - for they are of scandalous orientation and perform exceptionally well practiced distraction upon others at any moment they deem convenient to ensure that the creative drive of the world is silenced.

Your greatest retort available thus, unto those who would waste your valuable time, is to retort thus.

"I daresay, my friend, that you would be incorrect at your previous assessment of your current location! My good chap, this is not the realm of the mentally ill, and of the insane. But I would be inclined to tell you that it is, indeed, the sovereign Greek kingdom of Sparta!"

Then kick the offender with great strength, down the pit of those who hath the breath of Bark.

*adjusts monocle*

It's not so much that I don't want access to these sites, but just a stopper to keep me from wasting way more time then I need to, 5 minutes looking up something like a president is fine.. 4 hours of link clicking later is not Rescue time's alert system seems perfect, but I dont have money.

Besides, distractions can be all across the entire net. not just specific sites. I click on like fucking everything. and blocking google isn't going to help me

I can make you such a timer in blender, but it will probably eat processor power.

I just use the "To Do Reminder" app on android to remind me of shit. you can make a reminder repeat minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years.
That's how I remember everyone's birthdays and my own anniversary, lol.

Expedition log, day 632. Sun 3, Wind SWW.

We haven't found AFH yet - but the spoor tracks are clear. Dude's been shitting fire and it shows... wildfires are raging in Cali like nobody's business.

We'd better step up search efforts before the universe is toast.

Expedition leader, Dr. Yomuchan, signing off for now.
