Transitioning away from Google Products
Lately, I've been trying to slowly transition away from Google products as much as possible. This is particularly a big switch for me as I'm one of the people that's pretty deeply embedded in some of their less popular products, and have used heavily a lot of their various services to the exclusion of far more popular offerings at times.
I don't plan to go for iOS pretty much ever, and luckily Android is open source enough that there are viable alternative forks for now, but other options are looking better now too, like Ubuntu Touch. The search engine, honestly, really is the best, but I've used DuckDuckGo before and am pushing more towards using it more regularly. Email, translation, chat, video, social network purposes, those are gonna be pretty tough. There are decent alternatives for all of those I guess that are minimally painful, though the alternative offerings for video are mostly far behind.
One thing I've found since moving away from youtube: Amazon Prime Music is pretty sweet. I used to use youtube for my general listening, browsing and discovery purposes, and primary way to listen to a lot of smaller bands that have all their stuff on youtube (officially), but Amazon's music offering included with prime is better than I thought even without paying any extra and has some nice features.
So... yea... that's a thing I've been working on.

Re: Transitioning away from Google Products
Moving from google it tough, but it seems like you're doing better than me.
I tried replacing google with duckduckgo, but it just doesn't cover enough ground. especially when it comes to the shit I search for. But I decided that just using google for its original purpose might not be that bad... It IS a search engine that wants to know everything, and I'll just accept that it'll know when I google shit. I don't have an account, though. Fuck google accounts, and google email. Well, I do have one for youtube that I forgot 6 months ago, lol.
I still use youtube... ALOT. Game grumps, game theory, the sleepycabin crew, etc... and touhou music... I wish they'd upload on vimeo instead or something.
I've never used anything amazon related, but I do listen to music on sound cloud and grooveshark (new one) sometimes
