Think about it, this makes things so ambiguous:
Is it cool to 1) smoke because Obama USED to smoke?
2) not smoke because Obama does not smoke?
3) QUIT smoking after starting smoking because Obama quit smoking?
For those of us that don't like him should we 1) Start smoking because he doesn't and rejected smoking?
2) Quit smoking because he used to smoke?
3) Not smoke because he was once a smoker and would still be if it weren't
becoming president which we wish he wasn't?
It at least ends up with a Null point value, which is better than a president that never smoked, or one for which everything he did wasn't the new "in" thing.
