Then again... Obama... Dude, it's quite obvious our government is trying to KILL the freedom of speech. FCC wants to slap fines onto all conservative radio stations, the white house is launching a war against Fox News, and anyone who disagrees with the administration is labled a nazi. Why? Well it's a lot easier to take control when no one is speaking out against you.

But yea, actually they really might be able to control content in and out of the U.S. to an extent. Remember the Internet isn't really just a vague ether, it is connected through channels. What they would do is go to the ISPs/major server hubs and switch points and control what can go through there, or at least monitor it and go after anyone who misbehaves (ip tracking isn't that hard if you control that stuff).
It is interesting though how, contrary to what some believe for some reason, the democrats due tend to try and cut down freedom of speech alot. Like back in the 80s when they tried to get rid of all the foul music, and ended up putting Parental Advisory stickers on stuff deemed inappropriate (great stuff from the hearings on that with Dee Snider calling out Tiper Gore and showing everyone metal heads could think rationally).
