Post Jungalore Questions, Answers, and Updates
INTRO AND PURPOSE
I wanted to create a dedicated topic to Jungalore information, including updates and all. That way I'm not cluttering the main thread with update posts. If anyone has questions, comments, or concerns, they can be addressed here.

Occasionally, I'll be asking what everyone's opinion is on certain updates or potential updates. granted, I'm still going to have the final say, but I'd rather listen to users now than patch over it later.

For the sake of ease, questions and answers will also be made available in the opening post so no one has to dig. A link to the wiki will also be provided, and most answers will be made available there as well.

GENERAL UPDATE QUESTIONS

Q: Why do the updates to the wiki take so long?
A: See, people like you and I have normal, day to day lives outside of Jungalore. I recognize that, and that's why it takes so long. However, it doesn't mean I'm not working on it. In fact, I'm ALWAYS looking at new ways to enhance Jungalore, simplify it for easier digestion, and include all the info possible. So it also plays into how I write my pages. First, I start off by not writing anything, I work things through, and once I have it, I write everything into the text files. Afterwards, I paste it all into the wiki, format, and publish. Having everything done is better than making a million and one edits to the content. At least, that's how I see it. So why wiki updates take so long is everyday life, and constant planning and working before actual submission.

Q: I THINK X WOULD BE AN AMAZING ADDITION! Will you add it?
A: Maybe. Depends. Let me answer this in a few ways.

First, no new races or subraces. Similarly, I'm not removing any races or subraces. The races themselves are balanced out quite nicely I'd say. So nothing regarding races or subraces. If you do have a new subrace suggestion, you can still go for it, but I most likely won't add it.

Second, if it's a class addition or removal, or any sort of class rebalance by adding or removing skills, I'm saying no to it as well. The class system is fine, and no, I'm not removing every single class either and letting players gather skills and level them up individually. It's not Mabinogi. I'm also not gender-locking classes if there's the rare person asking to do that.

Third, I'm all for skill suggestions (namely additions, not removals). Skill suggestions are all okay to talk about. Don't expect your idea to be fully implemented, though, and expect it to be balanced if it is deemed too powerful or too weak.

Fourth, if it's an equipment suggestion, I will only allow a new weapon type or miscellaneous weapon. Armor itself is added on an "as needed" basis. If I can't fill a weapon bracket of 11 individual weapons of a type, then it's just not happening, but it doesn't mean I won't ever add it. In fact, it might make an additional appearance later, whether as a misc weapon or a weapon type.

Fifth, new attributes or removing attributes. This is a hard one. However, one I may look at. It allows for more enemies, so the best I can say is, propose it, I'll see what I can do.

Lastly, new enemies and events are near guaranteed to be accepted.

Q: I propose that we revert an update.
A: I'm actually open to this... To an extent. I want to see compelling evidence that would show that a revert to a previous update, or a particular aspect being reverted would be much better than the new one. It doesn't need to be a whole update, so provide your evidence and we'll see.


COMBAT QUESTIONS

Q: I've read the combat guide but still don't understand attacking at all. Help?
A: The simplest I can put it is as follows.

Physical attacks are two times your total attack (the attack you get from your equipment plus your base amount), minus the enemy's defense. Magical attacks are the same thing, but magic attack and magic defense.

If an enemy is resistant to the attack because of its element or attack type, the attack is divided by two before negating defense for every resistance. If weak, multiplied by two before negating defense for every weakness. If an attack is negated based on element or attack type, it deals zero damage. If an attack heals the enemy based on the element, all weaknesses and resistances are cancelled and the entire damage is healed instead of dealt (negations still apply). Same principle applies if magical.

All attacks round to the nearest whole number.

Q: I need help understanding statuses.
A: After attacking, you may apply statuses. Your status chance is equal to bonus status apply, plus the innate status chances on your equipment, minus the enemy's bonus status resistance. Most enemies lack bonus status resistance. Roll a 1d100, where lower numbers are successful (eg. A 20% chance succeeds on rolling a 20 or lower.) Statuses will only apply if the attack has a status attached.

If an enemy resists a status you are trying to apply, the whole chance is divided by two. If an enemy is weak, the whole chance is multiplied by two. If a status is negated, the whole chance is 0%.

First and foremost...

HAPPY 25,000 VIEWS!
We've finally hit a quarter of 100k. Here's hoping we get to 50k in even shorter time!

In celebration, from August 1st to August 7th, all sell prices are DOUBLED! That's right. Buy something you don't quite like? Sell it back at full price! Find a gem and don't really need it? Sell it for DOUBLE and profit!

On top of this, also from August 1st to August 7th, all drop chances are doubled! So that 1/20 drop chance giving you pains is now a hearty 1/10 drop chance.

Lastly, from August 1st to August 7th, ALL QUEST REWARDS ARE DOUBLED. Now is the best time to grab those really easy quests and really profitable quests, because they'll be worth a whole lot more!

PROGRESS REPORT
In keeping everyone up to date on my own progress in developing Jungalore, I've compiled a list of tasks that need to be done. Anything with a O is complete, and anything with an X needs to be done. P means in progress. Some items are marked with priority to show what I'm more likely to work on first and more likely to work on last.
