Enneagram of Personality
I was itroduced to it about two years ago by my psychology teacher and found it quite amusing (and astonishingly accurate!). Don't compare it to some New Age crap, like tarot or zodiac signs, it's para-psychology. Purely scientific. If you're familliar with roleplaying games, you can compare it in some way to the alignment system in Dungeons & Dragons (but it's way more complex). The Enneagram is one of the newest personality systems in use, from what i have heard - pretty popular in southren America and UK, some even pay for the lessons. Here You've got more info if you're interested. http://www.9types.com/writeup/enneagram.html#introOr you can look into WIKI for more detailed describtion. And here's the english language test that i find most accurate: Eng. TESTIf english isn't your native - you should probably search net for translated version, it shouldn't be hard to find. What can i say more, well i'm the 1w2 "Reformer" or "Perfectionist" or "Crusader" depending on the author, with winged 2 my personality is mostly often called "the judge" because of it's criticism, strong sense of morality and passion of hatred for injustice, but also compassion and less influenced by angrer (and more objective) attitiude. How about you guys and girls? I'm curious of your personalities. Also meaby understanding and knowing each other better will improve our dialogues on this forum. Are there any challengers!?

Re: Enneagram of Personality
Challenge accepted!
To an unusual degree, 7s live a life of action that is based on seeking experience, pursuing plans, dreams, and visions. At best, this makes them extremely exuberant, multi-talented, diverse, curious, and experienced, with a strong appreciation for beauty, style, and aesthetic flair. At best, 7s exude a youthful spirit, viewing the world as a giant playground, but at worst, they may become childish with their need for instant gratification.
In the extreme, 7s can go crazy with activity, juggling many different activities and plans in their heads at the same time. They may seem unusually lucky, although in reality their "luck" happens because they are unusually perceptive of opportunities and quick to grab them. 7s are unusually good problem solvers in a pinch, improvising clever solutions out of whatever is at hand. Even though their work style seems rather chaotic they are often extremely prolific and productive. Their improvisational ability makes some 7s quite entertaining and comedic, but with a tendency to disappear when slower, boring tasks need to be done. 7s are also called "generalists", because they can quickly master several areas of expertise, and cross-fertilize between them. But they may also become dilletantes, slow to finish or follow through. Healthy sevens also have an egalitarian streak - spreading their own joy and stimulation to everyone around them. Less healthy sevens often seem to be in a desperate battle against boredom, leading to breakdowns if boredom should temporarily win out.
...
They forgot to mention the part where "Once I get an idea, I'll rush right in, guns blazing."

Re: Enneagram of Personality
The enthusiast (generalist - Type 7) or the leader (type 8), apparently. Scored those with a 9 and 7, respectively. Both were high enough that I felt they were worth listing.

Re: Enneagram of Personality
5. The thinker The withdrawn power-seeker
"Nothing interferes with my concentration. You could put on an orgy in my office and I wouldn't look up. Well, maybe once." - Isaac Asimov
5s identify more strongly with their thoughts than any other personality. To others, 5s are known for their sharp intellect, strong need for independence and privacy, and intensity of their cerebral interests. 5s are intensely interested in explaining the world and predicting what it will do next. This derives partly from scientific curiosity, and partly because they sense much of the world to be hostile and unreliable, requiring that they use their minds to defend against its threats. The 5 is the prototypical scientist "type", although not all 5s are scientists, and not all scientists are 5s. Whatever their profession, 5s bring a strong desire to investigate, observe, and understand an issue deeply and provocatively. Fives are unusually independent and self-motivated, with a strong need for privacy, and others sometimes have no idea what the five is working on until it is finished and unveiled. Some of the greatest minds in history were fives whose ideas challenged the conventional wisdom, forcing those around them to think differently.
Unfortunately, the average 5's independence often leads to social isolation, and the 5's need for intellectual control can also be off-putting to others. Many 5s develop a cynical worldview, which sharpens their perceptions but also intensifies their isolation. Their independence makes their thinking very idiosyncratic, leading to either brilliance or weirdness, or both. As with all the types, healthy 5s can transcend this pitfall of their personality, and 5s that do make this effort can become as brilliant in their social understanding as in anything else.
And I have a stong 8th wing
8s come across as the toughest of the Enneagram personalities. At work, average eights can be assertive to a fault - they like to speak their minds bluntly, make quick but forceful decisions, and respect others who do the same. They demand and need a high degree of autonomy, and when they feel controlled by authority, they often show an unmistakable defiant streak. They are often shrewd in using circumstances to their material advantage. They do not like threats to their dominance, or people who hide information from them, and may force confrontations with others to get the truth, however uncomfortable it may be. 8s like to have the final say on things, but they may also give tremendous autonomy, within certain absolute limits, to subordinates they trust, which others find very empowering. Eights may show a softer side at home, where their strength is used not to dominate, but to protect. 8s are the prototypical "father figures", (even if they are women). When eights are secure in their dominance, they may expand their caring side by becoming magnanimous and generous. However, insecure 8s are the most tyrannical, destructive, and self-serving types. Many historically great world leaders are 8s, but so are many ordinary people who project a strong sense of being their own person, refusing to be used or led by others.
While some types dislike conflict (notably 9s and 7s), eights are energized by it. This ability helps them overcome obstacles that would crush a weaker person. For better or worse, during periods of historical crisis, it is often an eight (or someone with a strong eight wing), who comes to the forefront as a political or military leader.

Out of curiosity, what was everyone's worst score? Mine was type 1. At -12.

Re: Enneagram of Personality
Now i know why i understand and like AFHs way of thinking but can't agree to most what he says. There are quite many simillarities between us but paradoxally we are very different.
First thing that came to my mind is the Kira and L characters from the Death Note. As one is given the opportunity, he uses his intelectual dominance and power to change the world from the shadows as he desires, and the second one driven by his morality and bound to the rules, tries to prevent the destruction of the world order. Both are driven by anger and frustration at worlds imperfection but try to eradicate it trough very different means, so they become enemies.
We both are of analitycal mind and if your wing is correct - we both often take some of our power / energy to act from anger or frustration. Both types are very independent and abstemious when it comes to showing emotions. Both like to debate and laugh. I think that probably we both are quite cautious when it comes to spending money and we prefer to work in solitude than as a part of some team.
My older brother has the same type of personallity. As long as i remember, we understood each other intentions very well but have never been living fully on a good terms (well except when it came to joking, humor preferences and cynical criticism).
As for the Yomu as i said on chat, i knew you would be the 7. You're an avatar of Epicureanism.
Remon - you're mystery to me.

Re: Enneagram of Personality
I just answered the questions as best I could. Haven't really analyzed the results beyond looking up what each type means yet. Though I agree for the most part with what they say.

Re: Enneagram of Personality
You should retry it when you're in a different mood. I did it again now, and my type 7 was two points higher. The only thing that didn't change at all was my type 8 (still 7).

Re: Enneagram of Personality
Well Rmon, you're 7 winged 8 or 8 winged 7, people often misstake wing for a primary type. Best would be compare the differences between them:
8 and 7 both live in wrld of exaggeration but in case of 7 it's overflow of fantasies and planing, for 8 it's overflow of experiences. Difference is subtle, like "wanting to live, experience life trough yourself" (8) and "appetite for life, urge for entertainment" (7). Both are very independent and like to treat their mental wounds without any help from others, 8 doesn't like to show to others its time of weaknesses, so tries to just spend this time in solitude but in 7's case it's just occupating her mind in some other interesting / fun activity. 8 fears of beeing controled, 7 fears of beeing coffined, fears of limitations.
7 has oten problems in finishing what she started and time management for all things she planned. Also she has tendency to fantasize about the future, shes more spontanous, and free-spirit like. What could be also distinctive feature is that 7 sees beeing open and scandalous as funny. Concept of embarassement is hard for her to grasp. Also in conflict situation she tends to fall back, 8 loves to argue and measure other strengt of character trough it.
8 is more nervous and impatient, label of "hater" would be most often fitting to this type of personality, 8's are openly agresive in many situations, when it comes to arguing, sex or relationships. They have most often anger management issues. In comparison to 7, 8s are more brave and they hold grudges, love sweetness of revange, when 7 would just try to forget the issue and it's cause. 8's are also more protective and supportive to the ones that won their trust. 8 feel the urge to be strong, to be able to sieze control over everything that's happening around them. When working or just socializing in groups, they overthrow the leader of constantly fight with him for dominance.
When i'm not sure of the type some of my friends has - i give them set of famous people and their quotes. Most of the time they tend to go into direction that's their primary type.
Famous 8w7: Donald Trump, Sean Connery, Danny DeVito, Kirk Douglas, Frank Sinatra, Muhammed Ali, Joseph Stalin, Bella Abzug, Muhammed Ali, Idi Amin, Richard Burton, Al Capone, Bette Davis, John DeLorean, Mikhail Gorbachev, G.I. Gurdjieff, Leona Helmsley, Ernest Hemingway, Lee Iacocca, Lyndon B. Johnson, Jim Jones, Harvey Keitel, Henry Kissinger, Norman Mailer, Ferdinand Marcos, Aristotle Onassis, Muammar Qaddifi, Ann Richards, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Roseanne, Frank Sinatra, Donald Trump, Chairman Mao Tse-Tung, Richard Wagner, Mike Wallace, Barbara Walters.
7w8: Jack Nicholson, Anthony Quinn, Michael Caine, Clark Gable, Barbra Streisand, Joan Collins, Lauren Bacall, Helen Gurley Brown, George Carlin, Noel Coward, Marlene Dietrich, Phyllis Diller, Frederico Fellini, Malcolm Forbes, Cary Grant, John F. Kennedy, Larry King, Judith Krantz, Susan Lucci, "Martha" from Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, David Niven, George Plimpton, Cole Porter, Geraldo Rivera, Joan Rivers, Howard Stern, Jacqueline Susann, Duchess of Windsor.
Their ways of life and quotes show the differences of thinking between those two simmilar, yet different types.

Kali wrote: Probably both? It was never said you couldn't have 2 primaries Actualy you can;t, there's only one primary, and most of the time a wing (neighbour to the primary type. Hanzo wrote: Sooo....am I a type 4 or a type 8 then? OR A TYPE 12, MAXIMUM POWER. To determine that it's best to find and do the test in your own language, also look at the describtions of the types and determine which matches your personality. 4 and 8 are very very different. This test (as i said in the first post) isn't very accurate.
