This event is n0th1n's doing. Okay, so half the year's over already and we have maybe 4.5 months left or some shit. Fuck, the days just zip by, huh? Anyway, we're holding a book reading contest! None of that online mangoos or anything, but with real books! n0th1n wrote: NOW! Go read all Four Great Classic Novels of Chinese Literature. ALL OF THEM! SEE YOU IN 10 YEARS TO DECIDE THE WINNER! The challenge is to read at least 10 books by the end of this year, with each book awarding you one point - the winner will be awarded something. if you've read more than 10 books by the end of the contest, you'll get SEXTRA CREDIT which will decide the winner. For bonus points, read the Four Great Classic Novels of Chinese Literature, reading is worth x2 points. Water Margin by Shi Nai'an Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong Journey to the West by Wu Cheng'en Dream of the Red Chamber by Cao Xueqin At every 1st of the month, this post will be updated to display the latest scores, with the winner decided on the 1st of January 2018. Nope. And good luck with reading the full books. Dream of the Red Chamber is nearly twice as long as the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy. Translations are acceptable, but not the abridged translations, which are common. You need to read the full translations, which for Journey to the West often come in multiple volumes. |

Those are ones I completed reading anyway. |
