Should I take french?
A lot of the jobs I see on the jobbank that I am qualified for, they require me to be bilingual in English and French.
I ussually just skip over these jobs because I think, well, how many French people come through this city? Not very many, maybe tourists from Quebec, who know English anyways (Even though they refuse to speak English, because they're fucking assholes) And you dont see those people that often.
I dont even know if I should even bother taking French. I learned a tiny bit in school, but missed the fundementals because I spent grades 1 and 2 in the states. And, I was always bored in class because my attitude was this "Why the fuck do we have to learn this shit?"
And I still sort of have that attitude today because I almost never see French people. And I dont like most of them. And well, I guess I'll have to take it I guess. I might end up living someplace like Montreal on my search for IT jobs (And well, places like that, people do speak English, but you would be kind of lost if you didnt speak French at all)

In a country where it's the second primary language, and where it's a large percentages first, it seems like a wise idea. Also if you ever needed to emigrate, it'd help if you ended up in a Francophile country, or even a Latin one.

Yes! It looks good on a resume, can open the doors to meeting new people, helps with emigration...etc.
Learn French, motherfucker! I recommend you take a course for about a year or so, then actually move to a French speaking location...languages are one of those things that you have to learn by being immersed in.

NO do not take french, spanish is much easier. Or take chinese as those two languages (chinese and spanish) are going to be extremely important in the coming 21st century as China and powers in Latin America rise up.

Anyway, also another language that might come in handy is American Sign Language. You never know when you come across a deaf person.

My uncle suggested that to me once. It would also be great for teaching my friend in situations where talking is inapropiate, I'm already kind of good at talking without speech (People who get it anyways)
