Okay, meeting people over dating sites is too hard when you can't take anything people write on their profiles seriously. When ever I read a certain few lines I'm used to seeing a lot, I Just skim over and read another profile. Like when I read the lines "I'm not into games" okay lady, the fact you typed that in your about me profile tells me you probably play games a lot more than the average person.

Most of the profiles on there are tl;dr and a lot of the time I'm hearing "I'm a dumbass loser/I fail at relationships because my expectations are too high/I'm batshit insane and have a distorted perception on life.

Yeah good thing you don't trust most of the things they post. Its lies and deceit I tell you. LIIIIEEEES

Yeah, these people suck so bad they make me look like a winner. I kind of feek like writing abusive messages to people who write things like "I'm dont like games" because ussually someone who writes that loves to play games, ironically, it's like reverse pyschology. I'll should write them messages like "You're a stupid dumb hoe and you look like a fat bitch, I'm sure no one ever messages you"

Most of the decent people I meet, I meet in person, people on the internet, 99% of the time they suck

I can tell you from experience that everything on dating sites is a lie. By that, I mean I have a profile and I do nothing but lie on it.

OK, not really. Back when I was in high school, I made a profile on a free dating site and I've never bothered to take it down. Every now and then I go back and check it out, edit the profile and just leave it sitting there. No takers, but part of that is I'm a very ugly person with a terrible personality (if you can find my picture post that I believe is somewhere on this site, you'll see what I mean about ugly. Read any of my posts and you'll see about my personality.). But the main thing is that dating sites are made up to be total shit.

As people posted above, you have about three types of profiles. 1. The list: This is where someone lists off a bunch of useless facts about themselves that doesn't really say anything. It's like a weird sort of checklist that's completely useless. 2. The Anti-List: Sometimes a list, sometimes a block of text, the anti-list is actually someone saying everything they DON'T want. Someone up there pointed out, it usually includes a line like "im tired of playing games if u want 2 play games go somewhere else" with no way of knowing what they consider to be "games." 3. The novella: This is what I have on my profile because I was bored and felt like typing until my fingers hurt. I don't expect anyone to read it. In fact it's better than no one does. This is where you ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT YOURSELF! (Shocking, I know!) But on a dating site, most people look at your picture and plan to read about 20 words and be done with it, usually making the decision just by looking at your picture. If you have hundreds of words (like I do) or sometimes only thirty or fifty, most people don't bother. They see words and they're like, "o sht, dat 2 mny 4 i. Deh cnt wrte nething in 20 wrds, nt worth iing it up"

The basic idea is this: Some people meet online. Heck, my parents who have been married 26 years met online back when it was a BBS. But sites dedicated to meeting people online are a crap shoot that don't actually help you do anything useful but make a damn fool of yourself. Me, I don't mind making a fool of myself, so I keep my profile up not expecting anything to come of it.
