How do you feel about his passive method to obvious posturing?

In some ways I actually respect it. It is dismissive, much like an adult towards a kid throwing a tantrum. Simply keeping track of all shipments.

On the other hand, they have made rather aggressive moves. This includes launching missiles at our West Coast on the 4th of July, arms shipments, etc etc. I think perhaps a heavy handed response may be needed.

But, you’re opinions? Hanzo, n0th1ng?

Eh, I think if anything though they'd nuke Japan. They won't hit South Korea becuase, even Kim Jong still wants reunification. The US is unlikley becuase you guys could probabaly shoot down any incoming nuke. Japan however is short distance, reasonably easy to hit, and of course, neither Korea has quite forgiven them for the colonial perioid yet.

From what I've been able to find, they didn't launch anything at our West Coast. They launched some missles into the Sea of Japan on July 4th. The idea is however that its in defiance of the U.S., or trying to lure us into something. You may be referring to earlier reports from the Japanese warning that N. Korea might try launching missiles at Hawaii. On that matter, as I've said previously on the topic: they aren't that stupid... yet.

They are trying to lure a war. Kim-Jong-il has said recently that any attempts to board their ships by the U.S. would be a declaration of War. The U.S. of course has the U.N. behind us right now and new regulations passed allowing them to at least port the ships. Its not far from starting to board and check the N.Korean ships, which he knows of course and seems to be trying to get them to do.
Unless they really have a secret weapon ready though, this seems pretty stupid. Their missiles at best can't get near us, though they could hit Japan (yea, they may still be bitter at Japan, the old rule for that area is Korea hates everyone especially the Chinese and Japanese from their past histories).
But, yea, for some reason they seem to be trying to war with the U.S.
Something is up, they know if they actually launched nukes at us, as I've said before, we'd have the perfect excuse to annihilate them with our superior arsenal. Would actually make things easier on us.

This is the game that must be played though. We have U.N. support right now. Obama likes that. N. Korea obviously wants to draw us into something. But if we act to soon or step wrong, N. Korea will try and convince the U.N. its not their battle and that the U.S. has started something again.
Kinda reminiscent of World War I: several tensions and build ups and several players are just waiting for a good "spark" to excuse the start of a war.
But again, we are so much stronger. Something is up.
Either N.Korea is really insane. Really stupid and thinks our lack of "complete success on our terms" in our recent wars is a sign they have a chance. Or, more likely I'd say, they are trying to play China into their side, and possibly hoping recent changes and tensions with Russia will bring them in as well. We are on good terms with China right now, but China did back Korea during the Korean war. They are both Communist. They are nearby, etc. etc. Doesn't seem like the Chinese will help, but who knows, if they play it right, and if they know something I don't know, something could change. And, of course, the Chinese influence our economy more and more so thats a big card to have. Russia, of course, would be able to lend the long range nuclear advantage, and all the other stuff Russia has, and would have the incentive of getting rid of the old enemy and obstacle in taking back old U.S.S.R. territory.

Of course, from what I know, China and Russia would not be on board with this right now. But, that could be behind some of it. It could be a risky game their trying to play, and gambling for a huge swing.

A few other marks of getting ready for war: N.Korea is starving. Almost on purpose. They deny U.N. aid. Sure, lets say its because we're angry about the recent sanctions. No, I think Kim-Jung-il wants a desperate people. A desperate people who will be even easier manipulated and will fight even harder and more willingly in war, even under insane tactics. Its a form of an old Sun Tzu tactic: make your soldiers desperate, they will fight at their fiercest.

I have one solution. NUKE CHINA AND INDIA! that solves several problems: China becoming a super power, Indians taking all the fucking tech jobs!! Having to talk to Indians when you want tech support. THE POLLUTION PROBLEM. And as a bonus, from nuking china, you will most likely nuke half of korea, since it's so damn small... hopefully south korea won't be affected... eh, who am i kidding, south korea is trying to take over the world too

Well see, i'm more of a "we bombed it we take it" person so i don't agree with nukes, while the death toll and destruction to buildings and what not don't bother me, the damage to the environment does. Nuclear fallout leaves the land inhospitable and un-repairable too long for my likes, i'm much rather carpet bomb and cruise missile strike absolutely everything then annex the country for our people to colonize.
