Welcome Interbutz users and lords!

this is the starting point for an all in open source .swf player, we need people with the know how willing to do it! if Adobe is gonna make theirs hackable then we need to make our own!

The goal/core (DO NOT LOSE SIGHT OF THIS):
1: Figure out the file format structure of .swf files.
2: write a plug-in .swf reader for Firefox. (chrome is hacked, internet explorer is easily hackable/has no protections, no other big name browsers out there)
3: While Writing the plugin, disable binary file writing and disable .swf file save features in actionscript (simply just don't program a reader for those 2 operations!!!)
4: Disable cookie writing!
5: Disable registry writing.
6: disable reading of any external files except .swf, images, sounds '.mp3' and non-binary .txt. Disable writing of any external files Except non-binary .txt.
7: DISABLE ANY AND ALL ABILITIES OF THE PLAYER TO ACCESS WEB-BROWSER DATA! INCLUDING CACHE, HISTORY, SAVED LOGIN INFO ETC.
8: ALWAYS SAY THE VERSION IS THE NEWEST, PROVIDE NO AUTO UPDATE SERVER (this is easily hacked, forcing people to download bummed/hacked versions is too easy) this also means download an install will have to be manual operations.

Security problems fixed.

Flash is already an open format much like PDF. The problem is constant updates and bloat. We need to find an old version, get the changelogs since that version, only amend the code for security flaws and then make it publicly available under the "fuck you I'll do what I want" license.

How do we get around to doing that?

Beats the hell out of me. I'm not even worried about it. We'll always have Old Version for easy access to flash plugins and things like NotScripts or flash blockers to control exactly who gets to display flash. Games should be freed from the confines of browsers or closed platforms, anyway. We should be releasing multiplatform hentai games regardless of copyright and licensing.

Multiplatform seems really nice... which ones do you have in mind?

Windows, Mac, Linux, PS3+/Vita, XBOX 360+, Wii/U/DS/3DS/DSi and Android.

This is basically everything worth mentioning and a few mobile/handheld markets. Unity and CRYENGINE both support a wide range of build targets and would allow us to make one game then press a button to get all the different versions.

The only issue with consoles is we kind of need something like permission or otherwise our games would be technically hacks. The only issue with Android is content rating if we want our games in the Google store (Amazon has less issue and there are dedicated porn app stores if we didn't want to just release the APKs ourselves). PC is of course the most open platform

I support this effort, I support it a lot, but there's one tiny problem called Proprietary development suites and proprietary operating system versions.

in theory it could be circumvented by using a binary emulator, to read and operate everything from binary code.

Nope nope nope: it's the future. You press the Linux button and hit go. You hit the Windows button and hit go. You hit whatever fucking console you want and you hit go. "It just works."

Check out Unity and CRYENGINE. This is the future.
