yeah skype has been that way for a while now but it started really going to shit around... like july last year
i'll keep an eye out for any software that may suit your need
it'd be great if it was out there. but something tells me with the monopoly skype has, that is not the case.
and I know it started back in July last year, but I could rectify it back then by installing an older version of skype which didn't have the microdick update.
but now even that requires it.
I think fluffy may be our help on this one, he knows everything about net servers, phone systems etc. lots of experience. For the actual application, I know how to write it in python and build it in blender if that's any consolation. I just don't know how to send phone calls over the internet. would it be as simple as using the phonenumber as a url for sending an audio stream to and receiving one from?
for video in blender, use the video texture module to record from a camera, send the binary data stream to an IP address instead of a file and there you have it, the other user's client can be set-up to look at that port for incoming video streams etc. with sound it's the same sort of situation, record from the microphone and instead of sending to file send it over the internet to an IP address.
