Metal is just the same as pop except instead of dancing girls, it's sweaty hairy men because that's what angst induced teenagers like. Either way. One genre is not better than the other. All genres have their fair share of good songs. (except for jazz. fuck that shit)

Metal is still very much absorbed in adolescence for the most part, I'm not disagreeing with you there.
I just don't like how something like this, like Babymetal, takes an idea with some potential then knowingly exploits it with an unhealthy injection of SUPAH HYPAH OTAKU long past the point of being funny and even further past the point of being decent, in a shoddy attempt to dress it up in an idol costume that just doesn't fit, all to make a quick buck.
This is a novelty and nothing more; it shows no respect to the intelligence of the audience therefore it deserves none in return.

There's good songs for every genre... okay, most genre.
By extension, you must also accept there are bad songs for every genre as well.
This is definitely one of them.

Well, it isn't REALLY metal. That's the thing. Baby metal applies to j-pop audience, not metal fans. I happen to like j-pop, so to me it is not much different from under-17 or Hatsune Miku. I genuinely like "Headbanger" and "Ijime, dame, zettai". Yeah, sure, the band is no different from AKB48 or any other idol group, but that's pretty much the tale of any pop band.

And well....

I've been completely obsessed with "worse" :mrgreen

While I am in no way an authority on the subject and do not listen to metal, I imagine that if you analyzed them, 90% of metal songs would not fit that definition.

I never said I actually think baby metal is dope though, just that I found it funny newpurple did.

I'm really into legit j-metal, they tend to be ridiculously skilled instrumentalists and I always enjoy japanese vocals.
I'm also into j-punk and j-rock expecially alternative j-rock like the pillows.

Waithing to see what the japanese do with the new blend of hardcore.
