Think of this. the Fall Out Boy version of Beat It is way better than the original. And the Alien Ant Farm version of Smooth Criminal is just as good as the orig. If we could just have modern rock bands remake MJ songs, I think we can totally eliminate the memory of MJ as a good artist and just remember him as the pedo that he truly is.
Start posting what bands should do MJ songs, guys. GO!

Re: The Irrelevance of Michael Jackson
Hold on a second. The Fall Out Boy cover is nothing in comparison with the original, and honestly is probably the best song they ever did only because of its resemblance to the original.
The Alien Ant Farm version of Smooth Criminal I would say is better than the original though, but they are done with a rather different style and flare, and in different times. Still though, even just going with the basis of the one being better, it is directly based on the original and thus only shows highly the great relevance of Michael Jackson as even the remakes in other fields of his songs can be amazing (or we could simply look at it as evidence that his songs DO influence a broad field).
And besides, no one has nor will top Michael Jackson's Thriller with any attempt to cover THAT.
Still, you forget his relevence and influence was beyond simply music, or simply the strictly musical side of the industry. His videos were also highly revolutionary and influential. His dance choreography equally if not more so. And much more showed his influence. The guy was bigger than Elvis in his prime after all.

I was mostly joking with this topic.
But with reference to Noth1n... okay, so you don't like the Fall Out Boy version as much.
I, on the other hand, like it WAY more. So... now what?
