It's hard to specify sanity in ones eyes, it's quite subjective thing.
But if you're not sure of your sanity in eyes of people as society, there are tests and specialists in this topic who can find it out for you.
I think that asking people from internet about your mental, or any other kind of healt and treatment is quite irracional, since any of us can be insane, so our point of view about You would be way different from reality.

But if you ask then i can tell from my experience that any of us is fully sane, each and every kind of personality has it's mental flaws that can grow into many negative mental states.
I for example often find myself close to insanity when seriously angered, i can easily be taken over by this particular emotion, partially lose control over my acions and set loose or give vent to my inner desires for violence.
Such behavior, "emotional explosion", is described as short temporal insanity. So i can't say that i'm fully sane.

For longer state of insanity we can count in 4 example:
-amnezja or catatonia
-some serious fobies (when we can run but we can see cause of our fear everywhere)
-haucinations
-strange sexual desires (exhibitionism, nymphomania, teratofilia etc.)
-fetishism
-tics, shivers, incapability to talk to others
-short/ temporal psychosis attacks
-paranoia
-obsessional neurosis
And many, many more, so i'm pretty sure that everyone has experienced themselves at least one of those behaviors.

You should specify more accuratetly why you think this way about yourself?



Doubt (in your sanity in this subject) is sign of inteligence, it doesn't deny insanity.
Many crazy people ask for asylum because of their doubts and they are often proved to be true.
Beeing crazy doesn't always deny inteligence, sometimes it an denies morality, or just twists some specific behaviors.
It's like that bacause it can be caused by bio-chemical instability, bad parenting, negative social enviorment influence or psychological trauma (and probably many more factors), so it can have many results on the person depending on what caused it to exist in a first place.
Sometimes yes - it can be twisted way of thinking and it may have something to do with ones inteligence but that's not always the case.

Newpurple - loneliness has not that much to do with the friendly attitude. Every person can find itself a suitable companion. Some just choose not to because they have growed accustom to being lonely, or give up before even trying, or act like that to be cheered and complimented, denied of their loneliness.
I don't consider myself as pleasant, friendly guy and i think i've seen many things that may be considered as "dark", yet i'm not lonely, it's quite opposite of that to be honest.

lots of thinking leads to lots of ideas. He begins to wander into more dark and socially unacceptable ideas. With no one to compare these thoughts with, he can not set the bar. The longer this goes on, the lower the bar goes. He finds a thread on /b/ about putting bad jokes over gore pictures, and everyone laughs. So does he. Eventually he starts masturbating to weird stuff and develops hate for mankind or at least women.

Remon - it depends if you're sane / insane on your enviorment and people that are around you. Just as AFH friend said crazy people don't know they are crazy, but that's only half true. Meaning of sanity depends on average thoughts of collective, so if you hang out with crazies - crazy is normal and sane.

All genius minds have not been on the internet for long. though, I'm certain everyone has had thoughts about something bad. When you meet people online who shares those thoughts you find it to be more acceptable. When you meet sick fucks daily, you also get used to it, and eventually gain an acquired taste. Everyone here already knows about /b/, and no one cares about the rules of the internet. They were meant for when no one knew of 4chan. Even my 11 year old sister and her friends know about 4chan today, and they didn't get it from me.
