“Beware the Nigerians!” 4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013
Roppongi is an awesome party spot...but it's even better if you speak Japanese! It's a little on the expensive side, but going out and having a blast a couple times a year never bankrupted anyone. If you're looking for a taste of America, there's also a Friday's and an Outback in the area. I recommend a little jazz club called "Alphie's" after dinner, it's well worth the cover charge (no bad covers of sixties country music there!)
A word of warning. There are men, mostly Nigerians, all up and down Gaien Higashi Doori (the main strip in Roppongi), luring the unsuspecting into clubs with promises of ludicrously cheap drinks and easy women. Well, once you get in there and have a couple of drinks, they present you with a bill for a few hundred dollars, and if you object, a few more thugs congregate to "help" you pay, escorting you to an ATM, if necessary. That said, they're only dangerous if you go inside their clubs, so just blow them off when they approach you on the street, and have fun in a place of your own choosing. Visited April 2013

Re: Be careful, parpol!
hah! joke's on them! My bank card doesn't work on ATMs. Only the post office, which is closed at night!
Also, I ain't scared of no niggers. I've seen them. I've met them. My first time in roppongi, one of them came up to me and said "hey, why don't you come with me to this titty bar? girls everywhere, man!" I'd probably rather get beaten up, than surrender to thugs, though.
The thug raised his fist against the mute little girl - and from the ceilings, something wrapped a tendril blacker than the night sky around his upraised arm.
"What the fuck" was all he managed to yell, as he was pulled upwards into the darkness of the alleyway. The two other thugs - one a skinny punk and a well-tattooed brute, looked up in horror as the screaming of their compatriot suddenly gargled and his head dropped down with a wet splatch onto the cold pavement. His lifeless body followed - torn open at the ribs to reveal his innards, still quivering and fresh.
The two thugs had seen enough. They turned and ran - and their feet were held fast. The black sludge glued their feet to the concrete and they knelt on the floor, pleading for mercy from whatever horror they had angered.
Mercy, was a concept alien to this eldritch horror.
Their screams were drowned by the loudspeakers, the hubbub and the drone of business in Roppongi. The little girl stood up, and smiled at the nighmarish abomination as she adjusted her little hairband with a rose on it. A tendril waved back as she left the alleyway.
