1: what is the current state of the negotiation or project?
2: Not to ask for a deadline, but when do they suspect it to be released at the earliest?
3: if no answers to any of those, around when do they suspect we will be able to hear "something"?
be clear we don;t want definite dates just something to go by even if it's way off due to unforeseen situations.
