In any case, I probably wouldn't have hung around if it wasn't for the serious discussion area, and honestly if it wasn't for debating things out with PKB back in the day in a surprisingly decent manner. That kept me around and interested enough to get invested otherwise, and I liked forums back then but didn't have a real home forum at the time (for reasons previously explained). The dating sims did lead me here minorly (Love Hina and Galaxy Angel, the actual dating sims, because I found them fun and hilarious at the time), but not the hentai stuff (I didn't actually know initially forkheads made the other stuff).

I got my delicious drama. You were all livid, but I did everything by the book. Not doing so meant I would be removed from power, as we were democratically elected and had constant infighting(Spft, that's what actually happened to the site. It was the mod infighting). My two cents after having read this debacle. Guys, it's not who started the fight but that the fighting happened at all. It's the bullshit that comes from the fight. First off, I don't care who deleted shit, deleting shit is a sin to me. I don't like to lose the ability to go back to written word and be nostalgic. That, the massive uncertainty of who will be next, any and I fucking mean any bans are immediately enough to drive people away.

For better or worse FH is what it is. We all have ideas to make FH what we think would be "better" and it's a human condition to always long for what used to be. Imagine if the site took care of itself. The server was paid for, the domain had a 100 year lease, the forum software took care of itself. There would be no need for "admins" or "sysops" or moderation of any kind. Each user had ultimate authority over their own shit.

That's basically what we have here. The difference is that we can't really let the server run itself, that's just not how this works. Yom, Zwei, Lime, whoever I'm missing, they handle shit mostly hands-off. That's the way it should be. "Mod powers" should be treated like rope to hang yourself: the best option is to not use it.

I'm not saying anybody fits this but just as a precautionary statement: anybody that wants mod powers wants to abuse them.

Scroll through that. We were going with the first conviction, 2005. Which, if you will notice, the ruling has stood, even after going through the appeals process and to the supreme court in Virginia(well, appeals to be viewed by, which was rejected).

Honestly, this is fairly similar to the debate. We went through this, back and forth. I think the biggest argument on the other side was that there was only one conviction.
