Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
Eiryk once again turned to his two spots for easy money...

Guaranteed 40x Gold @ Velian Mines
Siren's Path: 34 - 66 - 92 - 31 - 72 - 61 - 72 - 85 - 99 - 97 - 97 - 52 - 14 - 55 - 85 - 65 - 36 - 7 - 1 - 4
Total Loot: 12x Iron, 64x Gold, 8x Shade Ingot
Total Rewards = 650 + (7 * 6500) = 46160 Legens

Eiryk felt much stronger now, but if he were to return to Lake Forkheads, he'd surely run into another one of... those...

QUEST: Defeat and ARK

Eiryk made his way through the winding Siren's Path, and as per his expectations, he wound up face to face with one of the machines. However, this one was still in the ground, though active.

"Not going to attack, huh?" He uttered, looking at its blue-ish glow. He walked about it, ready at any moment for it to spring to life and attack him.

"... Hmmm... I wonder... Just what are you?"

Yet it finally turned red as shadows were cast upon it. It sprouted shadowy arms andits body morphed from the pillar with haloes into a spider-like beast, ready to destroy him.

"Now that is more like it..." He grinned.

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
"So yeah, that's the short version of it." the man in the jacket explained. "Thus why we need your help."

They were sitting at a small restaur- tavern with an open-air section. From this place, Anhbein had a bird's eye view of this unusual city teeming with life. She had done a few sketches just because of how awe-inspiring it was. She put down the tall glass of orange juice and looked at the bowl that once contained a helping of fried eggs and ham. She finally began to write on her sketchpad.

[I don't understand how someone like you - that could create this entire realm of existence could have trouble bringing the dead to life.]

"Well, technically, he could. But if I did that now, he'd lack what makes him my friend." Yemhelch replied, downing a shot of whisky. "The way things are now, He'll end up like a zombie blobbie."

[I see... so you want to use my powers as a focus and pluck the lost soul from the ocean of LCL and reweave it here to his body.]

"Yeap. In exchange, we're willing to grant you any wish that you desire."

[Any wish?]

"Indeed. Name it, and we will do everything in our power to grant you that wish."

Anhbein sat back, considering this carefully. This could be her chance to take back her world from the horrors that had consumed it. However, she still had doubts - so she scribbled down her next query.

[I'd like to ask you some questions first.]

"Of course. Go ahead..."

[First, why are you so eager to bring him back from the dead? Secondly, would it harm me to use my powers as a focus to yours?]

"Simple. He's my friend." Yemhelch replied. "When a friend is in danger, you drop everything and rush to help. This is our way."

She nodded in understanding as he continued.

"Secondly, no. You will not suffer any mutations or side effects - and even if you do against all odds, we will restore your body as a special service."

At this, her ears pricked up. She scribbled down her answer.

[I'll think about this. Please give me some time.]

"Of course. There's a nice hote- inn down the street you can rest up in." Yemhelch pointed out a large building with a brilliant red signboard reading 'Restonne Hotel'. "When you have made a decision, seek us out at the hilltop over there." he pointed her to a verdant hill in the distance.

[I will. Thank you.]

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
((Just another apology post and a bit of an update...

See, I haven't been dishing out as many updates as I promised, and people deserve a better means of playing Jungalore. As I've said time and again (as well as our players), the current means of distribution is not only tedious, but downright confusing. Having to download the whole game and extract it every time a patch comes out is not fun, and having to navigate all of those files is so time consuming, and so I promised a wiki with ALL of the content of the files and then some...

To quote Silent Rob, "If I'm a porn star, all I have to do is come to work, bring my dick, and fuck some hoes. If for whatever reason I cannot deliver the dick, then I no longer consider myself a porn star."

However, I haven't metaphorically delivered the dick. In this case, the completed wiki. I hate that. On the upside, however, I have some good news.

Due to my job taking up a lot of my update time, plus the fact that I cannot continue working at McDonald's if I am to pursue a better living, as well as a number of other factors such as wanting to pursue higher education and a new living area, I quit my job. I want to dish out the update files and the wiki, and this move frees up a lot of time.

So, starting tomorrow, I will be working full throttle on the files. Count on it. Pay attention to the wiki as I do so, because everything is going up there. If you want to help out, contact me directly, or join our Forkheads Discord server and @mention me.

Until tomorrow, keep on adventuring!~))

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
The days turned to a week, and Yemhelch stood at the summit of the Hill of Memories. Just across the small park stood a gazebo overlooking a massive black crystal that seemed to have formed out of the ground. Engraved in gold upon its surface were fine gold characters in a script he no longer understood. Sitting in the lotus pose, his counterpart sat to the crystal as he intoned the names written there in a low voice - the dawn's light illuminating the engraved words with sunlight and casting a magnificent show of light to the surrounding forest and sky.

"I wonder when she'll show up." Yemhelch mused out loud. "If she'll ever show up. Kidnapping her like that wasn't a good idea."

Silence, aside from the gentle breeze that showered the air with pink sakura petals.

"She will find her way here." the man at the crystal said as he finally stood up. "Give her some time."

"Time, huh?"

"You may have plenty of it, but they need time to think."

"This coming from someone who thought kidnapping was a great idea" Yemhelch snarked back. "What were you thinking?"

Footsteps upon the gravel interrupted their conversation, as their eyes turned to the newcomer. A shock of clear blond hair poked out of her hat as she hugged the scarf she now wore to herself as she approached. It was Anhbein, their guest.

"Welcome. I take it that the Path of Liminality didn't give you any trouble?" Yemhelch smiled as he waved her over.

She nodded yes and walked to the gazebo where they all took the seats. Taking out a new sketchbook, she began to write.

[I've made my decision. I will help you.]

"Thank you."

[In exchange, I want the power to become a Guardian.]

A guardian? Did she mean... Yemhelch looked at his mentor as he nodded.

"The final class of Knight. That's quite a jump, but I can make it happen."

'Oh. THAT kind of guardian...' Yemhelch thought to himself.

[So, what is it that you wanted me to do?] Ahnbein continued the conversation.

"Well, as you are aware..." Yemhelch began to explain "...about some pieces of time ago..."

"Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all." Natsuki gasped as she sat back down on the flagstones of the ancient basement, desperately staunching an ugly cut on her forearm.

"Don't blame yourself, miss." the knight that sat across from her shook his head as he offered her his medical satchel. "No one could have known that the castle was breached in the first place."

They looked wistfully at the seer.

Not that she'd be able to help. Her eyes had exploded into gore hours ago. Several times, she had requested that she be left behind, her blindness only slowing them down. The paladins and knights had utterly refused.

Has it been hours? Or was it days? They had been fleeing the hordes of demons that had assaulted Cyndar through what seemed to be basement after basement, parapet after parapet - finding the castle a deathtrap. There had been supply rooms, yes - with water supplies and thankfully untainted food. But ever so slowly, they had been finding less and less...

A sharp pain cut through her stomach and she gasped as she clenched her arms around her stomach, falling over. The young man quickly stepped to her side, shouting an alert - when a long, sharp roar of her growling stomach echoed across the small passageway.

"Hungry..." she looked up and about the room... noticing the wall across the room rotating away to reveal a hidden passage.

As the small party turned around to look at the dark passage that had been revealed, footsteps began to shuffle from within - someone, or something was walking towards them.

Uh oh.

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
"...here's what we know so far. My friend Mikkael's soul was forcibly removed by the use of an artifact called the Book of Shadows. As you can see from the autopsy r-"

"Biopsy. He ain't dead yet."

"...Biopsy, then. Anyway, the report highlights the wounds he suffered in the Arena in his duel against Baphomatt. You can tell that they are not exactly life-threatening."

"I should have gutted him in midair." Yemhelch sighed. "Heck, I shoulda just strode across the courtroom and snapped his neck, law and rule be damned. This is my fault."

"It's not. You had no way of knowing."

Ahnbein's eyes were enough to convey the question - and the man in the leather armor replied. "Yeah, my buddy here - once faced our perp in the courtroom of Vel Da Ir. He was trying to pin a murder he committed on the victim's own apprentice. Of course, thanks to the combined efforts of Mikkael and Yemhelch here, the real killer was found."

[Yeah, I've heard rumors about that. Thank you for helping her when no one else would.]

"After this, the necromancer who used the artifact to cheat the fight in the Arena, then managed to fly to Cyndar where he awakened some kind of sleeping dragon, whose powers he then used to amplify his Book, destroying well over a million sapients, similarly 'tearing away the souls' of these peoples, reducing them into a form of semisolid slurry composed of pure organic compounds similar to the 'primordial soup of life' that formed on this planet 5 billion years ago."

A silence descended upon the group. It was broken by Ahnbein who wrote [So, how did Mikkael's body survive being mulched?]

"That's what would have happened to Mikkael if we hadn't put him in stasis." Yemhelch continued as he walked around the gap in time where Mikkael now slept. "Yes, we can write a new soul from scratch... but without the thoughts, knowledge, and heart - he won't remember anything. He won't be the friend I knew."

"So, this is where you come in, Ahnbein." the man continued, adjusting his hat. "We want to perform a 'long range' copy of Mikkael's damaged soul. We have a theory that the souls extracted from this artifact is currently settled in the 'ocean of blood'. We'll be using your innate power as a 'signal boost' to our Ego Border Analyzer system to search for Mikkael's soul. So, long story short, we'll be performing a soul recapture - then affixing it to his body. Still, this is all theoretical..."

"Can't know for sure until we try, right?"

"True..." With a sense of finality, the man wearing the luxurious robes snapped shut the pointer and the whiteboard disappeared from view.

She closed her eyes and reached for the sketchbook, several questions running through her head. At last, she settled on

[I have many questions, but first one is...Why?]

"He's my friend." Yemhelch replied. "Do I really need any more reason?"

She smiled as she shook her head no.

[I understand. I'll ask more questions later]

"Of course." Yemhelch replied. "My friend and I will be happy to answer. Do you have any in mind?"

She shook her head no.

[This is all so much to take in. I'll think of some questions by this evening.]

"Allright. Then, we will break for some lunch - and meet back here in the evening. " the man wearing the garb of a forest ranger smiled. "Until then, please enjoy the sights of the beautiful city and the surrounding countryside."

They walked down the Path of Liminality together, and back to Eternis City. It was then that she started writing down some of the questions she had in mind for this strange duo.

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
((So, just by a matter of posting in OOC and such, how would you all like it if I transferred the RP to the Discord chat? I've been gathering some feedback, and people seem like they'd enjoy it more if it was through a more dynamic medium. Allow me to explain...

See, Jungalore I2, the one before this one, (though, technically this would be I3/I4 now) was done in Skype. Everyone would contribute as they deemed fit and the world would be more dynamic and would be more active as well. Combat would also be more fluid because then either I or the player themselves could post as the monster they're fighting. Further, everything would be down in logs, and that would be extremely useful. A lot of the previous roleplay mechanics such as speed of individual spells would only work in that chat, but I am not about to change that now, as the new system works just as well.

Now, contrast that here. The dynamic nature of combat and exploration is taken away because everything has to be summed up in posts, granted, we still have history, given that it's all on the forum, but the world itself evolves on a post-by-post basis rather than via IM. I have had a few people say they'd like to join if the RP was brought to the IM front, but I want to know what everyone else thinks first. I did want to try and do both as well, but the coordination between both would be an issue (unless both IM and Forum versions were mutually exclusive).

So again, tell me what you guys think.

That said, I'm apologizing once again for a lack of updates these last few days. The girlfriend came over from the US and we've been spending our time together. I'll get back to wiki updates and text file updates following her leave, as I have to revamp a lot of enemies. I may introduce stronger ARKs because I'm looking at the one Eiryk is fighting and thinking, "Man, that thing is kind of weak for its level range.

Overall, I just have two questions...

1. Should we switch over to IM, not switch over to IM, or have both forum and IM?
2. If we have both, should we coordinate the two RPs, and if so, how?

That's all for now. Keep on adventuring.~))

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
(OOC: I'm okay with chatRP and this forumRP running concurrently, as long as both areas follow each other's events and don't cause a timeline split.)

-

A disturbing silence fell on the small party as they stared into the passageway and the footsteps trudged closer. Natsuki tried to cast some mage-lights, but her concentration wavered - unable to focus her Will as the hunger gnawed away at her. She sighed in relief as she saw several surviving knights had already prepared a crude shield-wall with their offhand shields and several bits of broken furniture that lay around the chamber.

Finally, one of the scholars - a novice by name of Kotou, managed to set off a feeble mage light spell into the ceiling, illuminating the small chamber with what could be considered strong moonlight. It was then that whatever was approaching from the hidden tunnel stepped out into the dim light.

It stood taller than the knights, but she recognized the creature instantly - one of those creatures that they had brought back from their expedition to Frenga Farms! Its prehensile ears were now hanging loosely by its sides, and its face had taken the aspect of a stern human. Only the three surviving members of the Magus Guild expedition were alive to see this, but for the Knights that now served as their defensive line, this was terrifying discovery.

For a moment, there was a stalemate - neither the creature, nor the people moved. The Seer, despite her blindness, gasped at the energies that emanated from this beast. Then, it turned to the side, making a 'follow me' motion with its large, floppy ears/arms, then walked backed into the passageway.

Silence fell as the mage-light spell petered out, Kotou's Willpower reserves finally depleting and he collapsed from exhaustion. Without warning, the steel door in the chamber shook, visibly denting and cracking the wall around it, and hungry - feral roars began to echo. Cornered...!

"What should we do...?" one of the knights gasped. "If we stay here... we'll definitely be killed..."

It was the seer's voice that got her attention. "The passageway..." she gasped, coughing weakly, desperately batting away the clouds of dust that were forming. "Hurry...!"

Another howl - followed by an earth-shaking impact to the door, and they watched in horror as the hinges began to shear from the wall. It would not hold.

Placing the blind seer in a body carry, the knights formed a vanguard for the mages and priests that entered the tunnel - only for a third impact to smash the metal door from its hinges and smash through the room. If they had stayed in there - the grisly scene was cut off as the secret door slid shut, plunging them all into darkness.

"Follow him" the seer whispered. "This passageway... I can feel..."

"Feel?" Natsuki asked her. Silence was the only answer.

"Oh no..."

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
"Its very simple." Yemhelch explained the procedure. "We focus the Scanner into the sea of the dead and start analyzing the echo of souls. Since our friend is here, you'll be able to find a soul that should not be there in the echo."

The massive construct shifted its lenses into a fissure in time and space, glowing red now as the reddish ocean surged beyond the wall. Yemhelch remained at the control panel, calmly shifting dials and controlling the complex machinery. Anhbein stood at the dais, her hands touching a large orb that now glowed with an ethereal light. On the opposite end of the machine, the crystal holding Mikkael stood - his body frozen in eternity; the machines that read his vitals returning no signal.

"Allright, if everyone's gone through the paces..." Yemhelch sat down at the command bridge and looked over to his counterpart at the control panel. "Lets do this."

Everyone nodded in response and he fired up the soul analysis torus. The machine began to shift the lenses and reflectors, creating a dazzling array of light from the orb and a beam of energy began to shine on the crystal.

"Soul rewriting systems operational. Feedback clear. No anomalies."

Ahnbein closed her eyes, and let her vast natural energies start flowing into the orb. Softly at first, but then stronger and stronger, the machine began to enhance the data from the echo of souls, projecting it into a display screen above Ahnbein. She nodded and began to probe the ocean of death. Her face paled at the sheer numbers of the dead that she faced - realizing the true extent of the cataclysm, but her firm resolution prevailed as she began to 'surf' the sea of death, trying to find the soul in question.

Silence descended as the trio began to work on carefully sifting through the vast amount of information flowing through the machine.

-

Her eyes snapped open as she recognized the soul floating in the echoes without a counterpart in the ocean of blood. As she focused the lenses onto this floating spirit, the action roused the other two from their exhausted reverie.

"You found him...?" Yemhelch sprang up with a yelp.

She nodded.

"Alright, Yemhelch. Prepare the muon analyzers and stand ready to transfer."

"Understood."

Two large sensor arrays were shunted into place and the orb was shifted into the light as Ahnbein stepped back.

"Impressive, Ahnbein. Allright, we'll start the rewrite process right away." Yemhelch smiled as he pulled back a large lever. The sensor arrays hummed to life and began to read the soul as they left their places to watch the process. The binocular sensors read the soul, and siphoned it safely into the orb where it was re-sequenced and the rewriting system began to fire up.

"We did it..."

The beam of light shining upon the crystal began to shift from a pale white to a brilliant green as Mikkael's soul began to be woven into his body. The three of them held their breath as they watched the excruciatingly slow process displayed on a side monitor of the writing system.

Suddenly, at 33.20%, the machine suddenly stopped and emitted a loud warning, making them jump.

"W-what's wrong?!"

Yemhelch ran to the control panel and gasped. "Unexpected end of data." he muttered as he read the message. Ahnbein ran up to the dais and looked at the soul she had drawn in, just to make sure.

"No, Ahnbein. You're right. It is Mikkael's soul." Yemhelch gasped. "Then..."

"It's not obvious? Someone's used part of his soul... for some nefarious purpose, no doubt."

"The BASTARD." Yemhelch growled as he balled up his fists. "I should have ripped his spine out and made a goddamn piano out of it the moment I laid eyes on him!"

"There's a lady present. Please, mind your language."

Taking a few breaths, Yemhelch finally calmed down. Ahnbein nodded in understanding as she sat down on the opposite bench of the observation chamber. Finally, he looked at her, then at his otherworldly counterpart. "Do you think we could salvage the soul if we could find the missing pieces?"

"Yeah. Is that what you're gonna do now?"

"Of course."

"Then, I'll keep the system running until you do get back."

"Thank you."

As he stood up, his eyes fell on Ahnbein. They had promised her a boon in exchange for her help... and now... "Sorry about that. Look, I understand completely if you want to stay back or go back to your world." he explained. "Still, you've helped us this far. Least we can do for all you've done up to now is resto..."

That was when a small creature with four stubby legs and a single large, ochre eye came stumbling up the hill, stopping in front of the trio and panting like a dog that had run a marathon. Ahnbein stepped back - understandably nervous at the appearance of this strange creature, and the man wearing the summer shirt and khakhis sat down before it, giving it a headpat and a strange biscuit while telling it how much of a good boy it was. The dog-like creature wagged its stubby tail ecstatically as it chewed on the treat.

Yemhelch stepped back a little as well. "One of his scouts that he sends out to make sure the area around Frenga Farms is safe." he whispered to Ahnbein. "Something must've happened. Lets go take a look."

"So, what's happening out there, boy?"

In response to these words, the large eye on the creature shifted to a dull black - before revealing a shifting vision of a forest. A decayed signboard pointed into a dirt path - "Frenga Farms" was written in old, faded words. Silence as they watched the vision swim a little more before solidifying. Without warning, the signboard was crushed by a towering, pointed leg - a massive behemoth, its body unnaturally angled, and dark as the midnight, lurched from the forest, followed by a similarly sized giant. The vision ended suddenly, the eye returning to black, then to its normal ochre hues.

"What in the world..." Yemhelch gasped. "A dragon?"

Ahnbein took out her writing book from her pocket and began to scribble furiously on it.

"Ah... it seems that she knows something about them."

[Yes. I've been hearing rumors of these monsters while I was helping people reach Avalon. They're unlike anything we have seen so far, though. But what we do know is that they hunt and kill all that bear life.]

"The survivor camps at Frenga... " Yemhelch said quietly. "You think they're gonna attack there?"

[No doubt.]

Silence. Ahnbein continued to write.

[I know I was not able to hold my end of the bargain, but please hear me out. Please help me protect everyone at Frenga Farms. I would be in your debt.]

"There's no need for debt." Yemhelch smiled. "Come on. We''ll take the Path of Reconsideration to Jungalore. Hey you! You in?"

"This'll be fun." the man wearing the knight armor smiled. "Sure."

"I'll be back, buddy." Yemhelch muttered softly as the three of them walked briskly down the hill and into the field of sunflowers that now glowed saffron under the setting sun.

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
((So as many of you guys know, I was on a form of vacation for the past month. ie. My dearest Aiki visited. Now that she's home, I'm getting back into full swing. I did a bit of planning for the upcoming rebalancing/implementations, and took some notes after doing more research on warfare and other goodies regarding actual human history.

Here's what we're seeing in the future... (I put it all in a spoiler because there's a lot on my plate for changes.)

Spoiler: show
1. I want to incorporate two new skills for people-class enemies. Plus a weapon-based skill.
- Cannibalize: Eat the fresh corpse of the recently deceased to heal a portion of life.
-- Unsure of when to add Cannibalize but it's likely to come at a much later level and only be available to certain classes and alignments.
- Burial: Perform a burial for the recently deceased. A portion of their will is absorbed out of reverence for the dead.
-- Burial is likely to be available at roughly level 10 to level 20.
- Jump Attack: A unique attack based on the weapon type being used.
-- Probably going to be available at level 30.

2. Some equipment additions/changes...
- Crossbows and Bows will be separated.
- Add hand cannons.
- Expand the total number of normal weapons per type to 9, making the total per type equal 11, and armor per type to 11, including arm gear, shields, and head gear. This will significantly increase the effectiveness of Legendary Weapons in turn.
- Add accessories, such as pauldrons, boots, capes, and jewelry.
-- Availability between these accessory types will vary per class.
- Add awakenings to all weapons.
- Make the weapons more sequential.
- For shields, add different types for customization.
-- Round/Heater Type Shields are the standard. Available to any class that can use shields.
-- Kite/Wall Type Shields are heavier and add more defense, but lower speed. Better for Shield Boomerang users or those who are already using a very fast weapon. Will only be available to soldier type classes.
-- Buckler Type Shields add more speed, but have less defense and are lighter. Better for people who rely on attacking first. Further, this shield type can be used by all level three scout classes, and all level four scholar and performer classes.
- Armaments are being removed due to lack of popularity. Speaking of which...

3. Crafting will face a few changes...
- New materials!
-- Ring Mail
-- Chain Mail
-- Bowstrings
-- Metal Plates
-- Hinges
-- Ingots
-- Hilts
- New crafting recipes using the new materials.
- Enchanter is being removed and being replaced with Engineer.
- Due to the removal of armaments, Artisan and Blacksmith will be given new master skills.
- New Job Point formula. (One per level, total of 100. If Peasant, 102.)
- New Job Perk trees and crafting specialties. (Done the trees!)
-- Alchemist: Item crafting. Attuned to water.
-- Artisan: Magic Gear, Light Armor, and Cape crafting. Attuned to dark.
-- Blacksmith: Melee Gear, Heavy Armor, and Pauldron crafting. Attuned to fire.
-- Engineer: Ranged Gear, Performer Gear, Medium Armor, and Boots crafting. Attuned to air.
-- Gatherer: Herb, Monster Material, and Wood gathering. Attuned to light.
-- Miner: Gem and Ore gathering. Attuned to earth.
- Due to this change, everyone is being refunded their job points when these new features get implemented.

4. Some other changes...
- Armament experience will just be experience.
-- YES, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GRIND FOR LEVELS NOW.
-- Quests will still be a means of gaining levels, but this will act as a supplement if you so wish.
-- You will be able to burn equipment in campfires for experience as well. Your Camp Building skill will affect the experience earned.
- Corruption will be adjusted to alignment change. However, it won't be super complex.
-- Enemies will come with alignments. Defeating five enemies of an alignment will cause your own to shift in the opposite direction.
-- Depending on the enemy, some will be worth more or less.
-- Neutral enemies, whether in regards to order or morals, will cause no change and is generally reserved for wildlife.
-- Enemy alignments will NOT be static, and can change based on the situation. Eg. Evil priests or good necromancers.
- Along with the above change, certain actions will also have implications.
- With the alignment slider, good points will cancel out evil points and vice versa, while lawful points will cancel out chaotic points and vice versa.

5. Area changes.
- Name/Type Changes
-- Frenga Farms is now Fort Frenga.
-- Remnvald Keep is now Tal-Ari, a reptal stronghold town.
-- Sunshriek Cliffs is now Skyreach Temple, central location to the Church of Lumbra.
-- Dreamer's Hill is now Shadelight Castle, central location to the Circle of Umbraria.
-- Ancient Shrine and The Core are now The Shining Under, a mine where you can gather plenty of gemstones.
-- Selk and Avalon are now in the Selkalon Fields, reflecting the change in the area.
-- Avalon will be the new magic city.
-- The few surviving Meridians who managed to swim through the red seas have relocated to Selk.
-- Magma Valley is now called The Firebrand Peaks.
-- Deathly Tundra is now called Shimmermist Hollow.
-- Rainfall Swamp is now called Bloodmoon Marsh.
- New story dungeons.
-- Cyndar is now Cyndar Castle Town Ruins, the hardest dungeon in the game, and central to the story.
-- New Meridia/Meridian Depths is now Abysmal Atlantis, a story dungeon.
-- The Slab of Destiny is now Destiny Cliffs, a story dungeon.
-- Chaos Pyramids is now The Zeden Crypt, a story dungeon.
-- Vex Vinas Ruins is now a story dungeon.
- Removed areas.
-- Divinity Peaks
-- Bandit Isles
-- Oasis Canyon
-- Yuunlands
-- Shadow Realm
- Added areas.
-- New Jotunheim has been established on Jungalore with the collapse of the Shadow Realm.
-- Cita Den Metalworks is a new mine with robotic enemies.
-- Selkalon Canyon replaces Ogre Mountain, located south of Selk.
-- A new path in the Lumen Mines links it to Fae Village.
-- Siren's Path is now an actual dungeon connecting the two parts of the Corisca Mainland.
-- Lover's Pond is a new special location where couples can get some unique bonuses from a unique individual.

On that note, I have gone over some possibilities of expansion. I really want to do Natsuki's idea, but there are a few hurdles regarding it that myself and Yom went over together. I also got Yom's opinion, and he seconded the idea with some proposed solutions. I may look more into it later. For now, though, I'm going to continue my wiki work and work on implementing the new stuff little by little. I'm likely to expand into Discord, but I just need to consider how to synchronize the two mediums for RPing.

Until next time, keep on adventuring!~))

(Less OOC and updates, and more story content!)

-

It was clear that the seer had fainted or even worse, but in the pitch black tunnel, there was no way to tell. Their panicked voices calling for each other had settled into a two-file march, each holding each other's hands to ensure that no one was left behind. The seer now rested on this makeshift hammock of arms as they navigated the passage, which was thankfully free of forks and labyrinths. One hand clasping the other's arm, the other hand touching the wall to locate any passageways, they walked forward at a slow pace.

No one had said anything, but this marching pattern would serve as an 'emergency rope' in the case they were being led into a pit. Still, death by pit was better than getting desecrated by the monsters that now infested Castle Cyndar.

Silence settled on the party as they continued their long march through the dingy, empty passageway - and at last, a knight at the lead whispered. "Light. Oh Lumbra's Grace... I see light..."

He was right. Up ahead, the tunnel petered out, revealing a small chamber hewn out of ancient granite by centuries of water erosion. From the mouth of the cave, golden daylight streamed in, illuminating dust specs and a small horde of bats that hung from the ceiling of the cave. As they emerged, the creatures quickly took to the air and fled the cave.

Natsuki tiredly followed the cave to the exit and stopped in her tracks as she saw the ocean from her vantage point. The rising suns flooded the plains and the red ocean in a disgusting parody of the dawn.

"Blood...?" she managed to whisper as her eyes explored the vista.

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
Philena was on her way back to Lake Forkheads when it happened. A troop of Meridians ran into her and The Girl as they followed the now grassy plains of Selkalon, along with Captain Altans and Mistress Alta-ira.

"It seems as though these are a few of the remaining Meridians." Alta-ira spoke, upset at the turn of events.

"Bellamy lives, as does the Assassin's and Pirate's Guilds." Philena herself added, "It is at least good that you have joined us, for we were unsure of what to do after our visit besides regroup. Has Eiryk or Karliah returned since their departure?"

The captain and the mistress shook their heads and Philena looked down with worry. She had feared the worst when a letter fell from the sky.

"A pigeon letter?" Altans remarked, he opened it and read its contents.

Dire news.

Karliah had made her way to Fort Frenga to defend the town from a new creature, as depicted on the back of the parchment. Altans shook his head at this news and Philena let out a worried sigh.

"You are the new queen, Philena." Alta-ira remarked, "What will you do?"

She gave it some thought before stating, "I want all able-bodied people to go with the captain to aid Karliah and the people of Fort Frenga."

"Understood."

"Captain Altans, does the letter mention Eiryk?" Philena asked.

"It says the boy went out on his own accord. Seems she isn't very fond of his action."

Philena closed her eyes and then continued, "The rest of you are with me. We establish Selk as our new town."

"Will they be receptive to such refugees?" One spoke up.

"Bellamy will have our backs."

--------------------------------------------------

Eiryk collapsed to the ground, weary at his duel with the construct, yet after so much trouble, he wouldn't let up. He pierced its eye straight on and the corruption oozed from its core before it exploded. He laughed a little, vomitting blood and trying to keep his own organs inside his body after engaging the beast. He could only try, given that his left shoulder had been dislocated, and his right arm which he used to draw the bowstring had been broken during the battle. He leaned against the ruined armor pieces and smiled.

"Well, I guess the world is screwed..."

...

"Eiryk..."

"Eiryk..."

"You cannot die here."

A familiar scene stretched out before Eiryk as he opened his eyes. A realm of clouds, and a light stood before him. A voice echoed in this scene, seemingly coming from the light.

"Eiryk. You must go to the tomb of the dark queen with those you can trust. With their powers, the world will return to normal."

Before he could say any more, the light glowed ever brighter before he awoke in another familiar place...

A place engulfed in shadows, watched over by a necromancer.

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
The path wound through the hills before settling into a plain as the sunset ended and a brilliant, alien moon slowly rose from the utterly unfamiliar sky as Ahnbein kept up with the two people walking ahead of her. As far as her eye could see, the grassland stretched out into the distant horizon under the whitish-blue moonlight, dotted with...

She stopped in her tracks, her attention turning to the eastern plains. Upon further inspection, she realized those pebbles she though she saw were actually grave markers, each with flowers offered. Inscribed into the black stones in alien letters writ in fine gold must have been the name of the buried. Noticing her halt, the two men also stopped and let her take in the vista. She turned to them, her eyes speaking the question more clearly than her book could.

"Ah, they are the many dead - those who sacrificed themselves to save existence itself too long ago..."

She looked back at the field - and as far as she could see, these grave markers stretched from horizon to horizon.

"Well, no... not the ones that died during the cataclysm your world faced. This was..." the man in the duster sighed. "...Too long ago. But as long as I speak their name - as long as I remember who these people were; they will not be truly gone from existence. Oblivion will not take them."

An uncomfortable silence fell as they resumed their journey to the end of the Path of Reconsideration. A wall of shimmering air stood before the group and Yemhelch touched it, causing ripples to expand outward into the air.

"This is the boundary between this world and yours. I'll go first, see if it's safe." Yemhelch offered. "Usually, it's ladies first... but we might be walking right into that dragon... monster... thing's path..."

She nodded assent and he walked in. The man wearing the robe nodded. "He's made it across, south of Frenga Farms. After you."

-

The sounds of the forest had been replaced with a sinister silence. The sky was overcast with low-hanging clouds and bathed the forest in pitch black.

"It's quiet... too quiet..." Yemhelch breathed out as he regained his footing and readied his tanto.

"Cut it with the movie quotes, you."

At this, Ahnbein gave them a quizzical stare.

"er... it's nothing. Lets go."

Ahnbein, Yemhelch and the man in the traveler's cloak made their way north towards Frenga Farms, their ears straining against the silence to pick out any trace of their mark.

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
Aside from the blood dripping from the walls and the massive tower of what appeared to be solid darkness cutting the sky in two from where Cyndar Castle stood, it was as if nothing was wrong. That was a clear deception, however - the last scout in the party training her spyglass on the walls had spotted six dozen demons wandering around the walls - countless more still inside. Of course, they had struck out south from the hills, hoping regroup in Wynd Bay - perhaps catch a boat to Selk or Vel Da Ir.

The path to Wynd Bay ended suddenly - a section of the land collapsed into sea... and in the distance, the telltale signs of civilization nearly drowned by the rising red seas.

"Oh no..." Natsuki groaned at this gruesome vista.

"... surely we're not the last alive, right? We have to find the high ground." a knight-apprentice mumbled as he looked around, spotting flotsam from the town that once was.

"I suppose so..." she replied at last. "Frenga Farms, perhaps?"

"Good call, ma'am." the knight with the blonde hair nodded. "We were using that as a central staging point for our investigation of Dreamers' Hill."

"A day's journey..." she replied. "And we'll have to find food in the wild. Does anyone know anything about food procurement in the wild?"

The scout and the knight-apprentice both raised their hands.

"Allright, so we'll head to Frenga Farms as fast as we can. If those monsters catch us out here in the open, we're dead."

"But Lady Natsuki, what if the demons have overrun Frenga Farms already?" a knight questioned her.

"Then, we're dead." she sighed. "At least the forest covers will give us a fighting chance..."

She didn't sound convinced - after all, she knew quite well what lurked in the darkness of Frenga Farms.

Post Re: Jungalore: The New World [Main RP Thread]
They trudged on through the dark forest, the soft haze north echoing light from Frenga Farms serving as a guide in the moonless, starless night. They must've set up fires to light up the village to stave away the darkness, he thought to himself.

Aside from a few rodents that quickly scurried out of their way, the trip was uneventful - the dark being the only obstacle that slowed them down significantly. Yemhelch sighed as the clearing was breached, and the stout walls of Frenga Farms came to view. Illuminated by magickally enhanced holy fire, they were a solid defensive position - and several hundred humans along with a meridian here and there, an elvine, reptal or kemonor along them all helping several civilians evacuate to the south of the wall.

"Were we too late?" the man wearing the rangers' suit mumbled.

Waving their hands as they approached the crowd, they approached the crowd and asked them what was happening.

"We built this damn wall facing the wrong way is what happened!" a flustered knight sighed as he drew a handcart full of possessions along with him, a family of four at his heels. "We got scout reports that a massive demon is headed straight towards Frenga Farms! And worst of all..."

"Worst of all...?" Yemhelch prompted him.

"We haven't seen hide or hair of those weird beasts that were running rampant south of Frenga Farms in days!"

A grumble went up, with some proposing another wall be built northwards while others wanted the current wall dismantled and rebuilt facing north.

"We're here to help." Yemhelch explained. "What's the plan of defense?"

"We don't have much of a plan." the knight admitted. "But whoever can put up a fight's gathering at the Cyndar Knights camp. Worst case scenario, we'll cut our losses and escape into the forest."

"And Lumbra knows what's lurking in there! We're all dead!" an older man groaned at this.

"Shut it, you pessimist!" the woman with him snapped, giving him a light sock on the head.

They left the crowd and passed through the makeshift gate, past the once-peaceful village and to the makeshift camp flying a tattered Knights of Cyndar banner. Here, a variety of fighters had gathered and were sitting around campfires, preparing their weapons and checking their armor. Upon explaining that they were volunteering for civic defense, they were shown to the second-largest tent and a man in his late 30's greeted them.

"I'm Commander Aodhan. I know its not usual protocol for the Knights to accept help from mercenaries... but these are desperate times. Understand, however... that we have next to nothing to repay you with."

Ahnbein shook her head. Yemhelch read her mood and followed through. "It's fine, Commander. In times like these, we have to help each other. Still, we'd appreciate it if you could provide us with weapons and armor."

He sighed. "We don't have much. The armory in Castle Cyndar was overrun when the demons attacked there... and what we have are spares our field Quartermasters brought with us."

At this, Ahnbein's eyes widened a bit at the implications. "Anything is fine." Yemhelch insisted.

"Very well. I'll escort you three to the forges."
